I’m
leaving…NOT.
I entered
college expecting good times, companionship, a new sense of direction and to be
as free as an eagle, flying in the sky without any limitations. But in the long
run, I soon find out that college comes with challenges, struggles, disappointments
and heartbreaks because of the demands and grandes
esperanzas that are put on the value of education. Students, especially
working students or even a student leader like myself experienced a great deal of pressure,
especially when we are trying to balance a classroom task, responsibility to an
immense organization or simply just having an active social life. The demand of doing
many different duties with very little time, knowledge and experience can be
very tough.
But
guess what? I actually survived it. I’ve been through a lot, I can say that.
After all of what I have experienced, I’m a better person/artist as I was
before. Through hardships, pain, sleepless nights and countless steps that I’ve
made just to make every effort marvelous, I can declare, I’m proud of what I’ve
accomplished. It is now in the record books, but ofcourse I won’t stop here, I
will continue to pursue my dreams and carry on the competitive fire that I have
acquired through all these years. I can’t just be the man who became the DG President, after all, I need to make
myself better than that. Though I need to make more sacrifices, ‘cause life
works that way, in order for us to be successful, we must take the risk and give
it all, whatever it takes. NO PAIN, NO GAIN that is the golden rule. I may lose
some of my friends, money and time to be with my loved ones as a take this path
to greatness, I accept that, it’s actually fine for me, because I believe in
due time all of that will come back to me one sweet day.
Do
I regret something? In doing all of these things? The answer is a big NO,
because all of my hard work is for my family, friends, loved ones and for
myself. Plus, I can’t buy what I’ve learned, I can apply my knowledge to
everyday life and with a bit of luck, it can make me a better human being that
can lead me to better choices, not only for the benefit of myself but for the
profit of everyone around me.
I
will be graduating soon, but it doesn’t mean I’m leaving and I have no plans on
leaving the guild and my DG family, It will be forever in my heart because DG,
to me, is freedom, you can always be yourself without any reservations and they
will either hate you that will, somehow, well, make you want to leave or love
you that they will embrace you until the end.
I’m
tough enough, DG already gave me set of skills that honed me to face the
challenges of the real world. As the president it made me realize that being a leader is a position of prestige because many may look up
to you. But it is also a position of responsibility because you will look after
to many.
I’m
real tough, because I was raised by a woman with a
silver hair and a golden heart. My grandmother, never fails to take care of us.
Indeed, supermom.
I will be tougher than ever, because I know my parents believe in
me and will support me, come what may. I will let them taste the wine of
success, that we’ve always wanted since then. Every sacrifices will be worth
it. Every tears that have been shed will soon be a distilled water that will probably
keep us alive.
I’ll stay tough, ‘cause I believe in a higher being that guide and
teach us but never judge of what we are. Again, I will never be arrogant enough
to demand on what I want to happen in my life, like the classics, work harder
and THY WILL DE DONE.
I will never be afraid of anything
again, I have already overcome the toughest things that can possibly put a
ordinary studet down, with that, it lead me to understand that, HOPE IS
STRONGER THAN FEAR, every seconds is a time to do something great. Don’t waste
it. Ofcourse, PASSION IS THE ANTIDOTE TO FEAR, when we have this raging passion
in our hearts and soul it could take us to places we have never gone before.
To
all of my friends, acquaintances, loved ones, especially to my family and
mentors, my greatest appreciation to all of the things you have done for me, in
either way, injured me or loved me, you guys, taught me a lesson that I could
treasure forever.
I’m not actually leaving so I don’t
have to say goodbye or anything. So as I end this composition, I would like to
say SEE YOU ALL AROUND! The passion continues… The story goes on…
